It’s hard enough to hear about an ex’s new relationship, but can you even imagine what it’s like when you’re both as famous as Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber? Not only does she have to hear every detail about Bieber’s quickie engagement to Hailey Baldwin, but also there’s the fact that paparazzi are hunting her down for signs of any kind of reaction to the news.
Then, lo and behold, Gomez dared to show off long, flowing locks as she walked around New York City on July 9. After months of wearing a flirty, fun bob, is this new ’do some kind of message to first love Bieber? Does it say: Congrats, now you’ll never get all this? Or, as we would much rather believe, is it simply a girl feeling like she wants a change for herself? (Though in the middle of the summer heat, why anyone would want to add extra locks of hair is another mystery altogether.)
Most likely, Gomez’s change, like these other famous ladies listed here, isn’t purely motivated by news of an ex moving on. Still, we can’t say whether the thoughts of loves lost don’t linger somewhere in our minds. And the timing sure is interesting with these other examples.
