It was six months ago when Selena Gomez first told fans about her upcoming cosmetics line, Rare Beauty. And after two years of dreaming about launching a line that bridges the gap between mental health and beauty, that vision is finally a reality. And believe us, it’s beyond what we’ve ever expected.
Since the brand’s inception, the singer-turned-makeup mogul has been involved in every step of product development. From designing the first-of-its-kind Blot & Glow Touch-Up Kit, perfect for on-the-go touch-ups, to working with a calligrapher to comprise Rare Beauty’s Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner, Selena has influenced every aspect of the self-expression makeup line.
Rare Beauty is consists of unique formulas to create breathable and airy makeup that you can apply with ease for adjustable coverage and a fresh, natural-looking finish, without hiding what makes people unique. The full line of thoughtfully formulated, thoroughly tested products includes 14 categories and a whopping 150 SKUs.

The complexion products include the Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer, Always an Optimist 4-in-1 Mist, and the Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation and Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer, which are each available in 48 shades to suit all skin tones!
Rare Beauty also carries With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm in eight shades, Lip Souffle Matte Lip Cream in 12 shades, Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in eight shades, Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in eight shades (four dewy and four matte), Brow Harmony Pencil & Gel, and three tools.

Last month, Gomez, announced the launch of the Rare Impact Fund, which will raise $100 million over the next 10 years to help address the gaps in mental health services for underserved communities. From the first Rare Beauty product sold onward, one per cent of all sales, as well as funds raised from partners, will be dedicated to the Rare Impact Fund that aims to increase access to mental health resources.
“I’m so grateful to be surrounded by a team that’s helped make the Rare Impact Fund a reality,” reads a Rare Beauty statement from the founder herself.
“Since the brand’s inception, we wanted to find a way to give back to our community and further support people who needed access to mental health services, which have had a profound impact on my life. Rare Beauty is focused on helping people feel more connected to one another and less alone in the world. The Rare Impact Fund will make a direct impact on many lives and, ultimately, make a difference in the world. I’m proud of the work we’ve begun to do with our partners to offer these services to anyone who needs support.”
