Selena Gomez Wore a Silky Gold Gown for Her Quarantine Birthday Party

Selena Gomez celebrated her 28th birthday in quarantine — and in style.

As coronavirus cases continue to climb across most U.S. states, Gomez opted for an at-home celebration with her friends on Wednesday. "Left my phone for most of yesterday to be present in the moment, but have been reading all of your posts today," she shared in an Instagram post the next day. "Just wanted to say thank you for every single message- I feel so much love from y’all. I love you guys so much and here’s to 28."

She shared three polaroid photos from the event of herself in a silky golden gown, blowing out candles on a cake and standing in front of pink balloons spelling out "Happy Birthday Selena."

Gomez's close friend Raquelle Stevens also shared photos from the day, showing a large outdoor dinner table surrounded by pink flower petals and floor cushions.

On her birthday, Gomez's makeup company, Rare Beauty, announced the launch of its Rare Impact Fund, which will set out to raise $100 million and provide underserved communities with mental health resources. One percent of Rare Beauty's annual sales — in addition to funds raised by partners — will go to the Rare Impact Fund, with plans for the company to raise the $100 million goal over the next 10 years.

"Since the brand's inception, we wanted to find a way to give back to our community and further support people who needed access to mental health services, which have had a profound impact on my life," Gomez said in a statement at the time. "Rare Beauty is focused on helping people feel more connected to one another and less alone in the world. The Rare Impact Fund will make a direct impact on many lives and, ultimately, make a difference in the world. I'm proud of the work we’ve begun to do with our partners to offer these services to anyone who needs support."
