While TruNude isn’t technically available yet, it did raise money with a kickstarter this year to help develop the brand’s patented technology which determines the customer’s shade of nude with an app that creates a color code based on a selfie. “Companies have gotten away with the beige ‘nude’ standard because that’s just the way it’s been,” found Danai Pointer told The Huffington Post. “Economically it’s easier to produce one color, and we as consumers have accepted the lack of options because, en masse, we haven’t really required an alternative.
