I'm a Sephora Rouge, and here's how I save money at the Sephora Sale
As a professional online shopper (yes, I love my job), I can definitively say that I am great at shopping. I can sniff out a good deal from miles away and tend to have roughly 728 products in my cart at any given time. So, let me help you build your online shopping cart. Whether you're shopping for major sale events like Prime Day or just upgrading your wardrobe, I'll always give you the must-have picks.
Not to put me on the spot, but I don't think anyone gets quite as hyped as I do for the semi-annual Sephora Sale. The Sephora Savings Event ends tonight, and I'm done with all of my sale shopping.
If you're a beauty lover like me, I'm sure you already have your eyes set on a few things from the beauty retailer. However, not only am I a beauty editor for a living, but I'm also a Sephora Rouge member, which is the highest Beauty Insider tier. That means I've learned a few hacks for shopping the Sephora Sale without spending an entire paycheck.
Obviously, the Sephora Sale and all of the dope savings can be super overwhelming. We all want the best value on all of the shiny new products. Stick with me, and I can teach you my expert ways. But first, let's break it down:
Wait, what is the Sephora Sale?
Here’s the deal with the Sephora Sale: The Sephora Savings Event is happening online and in stores from Oct. 27 through Nov. 6 for Beauty Insider members (you can sign up for free!), and literally everything is on sale. Yes, everything. All you need to do is use the code TIMETOSAVE at checkout.
Depending on your Beauty Insider status, there are different deals for different tiers, with Sephora Rouge members getting the most benefits. Get your carts ready because here’s the breakdown:
ROUGE: Members of the highest Beauty Insider tier currently have first access to the sale and 20% off their purchase.
VIB: Members of the middle tier can shop Sephora products with a sweet 15% discount on their bags.
INSIDER: The lowest beginner tier gets access to the Sephora Sale and a 10% discount added to their entire purchase.
While that’s just the price breakdown across membership tiers, all Beauty Insider members can also take 30% off Sephora Collection products.
Make sense? No matter what your Sephora Beauty Insider status is, you’ve got to take advantage of these semi-annual savings. From holiday gifts to the freakin’ Dyson Airwrap herself, I poured through the beauty retailer’s entire inventory to curate the best expert-approved beauty products.
Now that the logistics are all squared away, I can let you in on the foolproof secrets that save me money at the Sephora Sale every year. Scroll below to take advantage of my expert Sephora Rouge tips and shop a handful of the best Sephora Sale products, from skin care to hair, makeup and more.
Don't forget to use the code TIMETOSAVE when you check out!
1. Take advantage of holiday gifts and value sets
The Sephora Holiday Savings Event isn't the only good thing from the beauty retailer this time of year. Holidays at Sephora means gift sets upon gift sets upon gift sets. We've already outlined the best value sets, but feel free to peruse my favorites below!
Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Mini Lip Trio, $32 ($45 value)
Olaplex Strong Days Ahead Hair Kit, $55 ($75 value)
Summer Fridays The Skincare Set, $65 ($99 value)
Sephora Favorites Perfume Sampler Set, $85 ($167 value)
Peter Thomas Roth Goodbye, Eye Baggage! 6-Pair Hydra-Gel Eye Patch Kit, $19 ($24 value)
2. Shop the Sephora Collection
Honestly, everyone is sleeping on The Sephora Collection. There are so, so many great (and honestly better) products for a fraction of the price. Unlike the rest of the sale, everything from the Sephora Collection is 30% off. One thing I always get during the event is a new Sephora Collection brush set.
PRO 8-Piece Face & Eye Brush Set, $95 ($202 value)
3. Stock up on your favorite beauty products
I know it's tempting to take advantage of discounted viral TikTok products, but I suggest you stop that train of thought before it goes way off the tracks. Just because a viral product works for someone else doesn't mean that it's also going to work the same for you! Save any time you would normally spend returning said viral items and restock your collection. Here are a few of mine below!
4. Buy just one splurge item
Even though we're all about saving money here, what's a good sale without splurging on an item you would never buy at full price? It's the best time to finally grab that fancy perfume, luxurious skin cream or Dyson blow dryer that you've been eyeing. A little treat for yourself!
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DRx SpectraLite™ FaceWare Pro, $455
Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream with TFC8® Face Moisturizer, $290
Westman Atelier Vital Skin Full Coverage Foundation and Concealer Stick, $68
PAT McGRATH LABS MTHRSHP Bijoux Brilliance: Starstruck Splendor Full Face Palette, $76
5. Get all of the sunscreen
It's super important to apply (and reapply) SPF daily, even in the winter. Of course, this means that you're going through more sunscreen than you ever thought possible. To make sure I don't get skin cancer while protecting my wallet, I always stock up on sunscreen. Luckily, Sephora has some of the best SPF options around — including a jumbo pump bottle of Supergoop!
Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen, $36
CAY SKIN Isle Glow Body Lotion SPF 45 with Sea Moss and Cocoa Seed Butter, $38
Glossier Invisible Shield Water-Gel Transparent Face Sunscreen SPF 35, $25
