Last Wednesday, Serena Williams announced that she was pregnant by uploading a Snapchat of her baby bump with the caption "20 weeks." This will be her first child with her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

She promptly deleted the photo, but not before it could be screenshot and spread all over the internet, where fans lost the minds over the fact that the tennis champ won the Australian Open while pregnant.

On Monday - her fiancé's birthday - she confirmed her pregnancy with a sweet Instagram, writing, "I can't wait to meet you. I can't wait for you to join the players box next year."

So it was pretty clear that William's initial Snapchat was probably an accidental announcement. The athlete confirmed as much while chatting with Gayle King at yesterday's 2017 Ted Talks in Vancouver.

"Well, actually it was an accident. I was on vacation just taking some time for myself and I have this thing where I've been checking my status and taking pictures every week to see how far along I'm going," Williams, 35, said. "I didn't tell a lot of people to be quite honest and I'd been saving it. On social media, you press the wrong button and… Thirty minutes later I missed four calls and I'm like, 'That's weird.' But it was a good moment. I was only going to wait five or six more days [to share]."

Williams also talked about her post-baby plans, and said motherhood wouldn't slow her down on the court. "Roger Federer is older than me and he's still winning everything," she said. "My baby's going to be in the stands, hopefully cheering for me." Of course he/she will, because if your mom is Serena Williams and won the Australian Open while pregnant with you, who else would you cheer for?!

Williams's rep confirmed her pregnancy to People after the TED Talk. "I'm happy to confirm Serena is expecting a baby this fall," the rep said. You know, in case there was still any doubt.
