Shake Shack Is Giving Away Free Sandwiches
And the free burger goes to...
The biggest night in Hollywood is nearly upon us, when our favorite celebrities take to the Dolby Theatre for the Academy Awards. And while many A-listers hit up In-N-Out after the Oscars, that’s not the only fast food burger joint in the spotlight this Sunday.
So, don’t worry; even if you live East of the Mississippi River with no In-N-Out (at least, for now), you can still get excited about some sandwiches. That’s because Shake Shack is giving away free food after the awards show.
Shake Shack 2024 Oscars Deal
You might have thought that after Super Bowl LVIII ended, your over/under bets would, too. However, over/unders don’t have to stop at Reba McEntire’s National Anthem length, yard amounts, or how many times Taylor Swift will be featured on TV. There’s an over/under for the Academy Awards’ length, too.
Award shows are notorious for their long runtimes, so this year, Shake Shack will reward you for sitting through hours of speeches and unforeseen, awkward TV moments by giving away free sandwiches the week after the show. What are they giving away? That’s where you’ll need to place your bets.
The over/under for this year’s Oscars runtime is three hours and 31 minutes, according to Shake Shack. So, if the show is shorter than three hours and 31 minutes, the restaurant will offer free SmokeShack burgers. However, if the show runs longer than three hours and 31 minutes, it will give out free Chicken Shack sandwiches.
Either way, you win, but you’ll have to wait until Sunday night to learn just what the prize is. A SmokeShack cheeseburger with bacon, cherry peppers, and ShakeSauce? Or a Chicken Shack with lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo?
Once we learn the outcome, the deal will go live on Monday, March 11, and be available through March 18.
To score either free sandwich, you’ll first need to spend at least $10, then use the code “BIGWINS” at checkout. The code can be redeemed at a Shake Shack kiosk, on Shake Shack’s site, or via its app, but you’ll need to remember to enter it—just adding a Chicken Shack or SmokeShack to the cart will not automatically make it free.
If you weren’t already planning to tune in Sunday to see your fave films win big, we guess free food is a good excuse to watch Jimmy Kimmel in his fourth appearance as Oscars host. At least if your favorite celebrity doesn’t win "Best Actor," you still win something.
