Shania Twain looks 'ageless' in message to Team Canada snowboarder Laurie Blouin: 'Kick some a--'
Shania Twain is rooting for Team Canada during the 2022 Olympic Games.
On Friday, the 56-year-old singer shared a video to Instagram to give a shoutout to Team Canada snowboarder, Laurie Blouin, who is competing at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
"Laurie, I want you to know that I am so honoured that you listen to my song to warm up during competitions, and good luck," Twain said in her message to Blouin. "Have a great time at the Beijing Olympics. Go kick some a—-. Let's go, Laurie!"
Twain showed off her sense of humour by including a video of herself in the midst of a skiing mishap, sliding down a mountain on her stomach while her song, "Up!" plays in the background.
"Kick some a—- at Beijing 2022, Laurie Blouin and Team Canada!" Twain captioned the post, poking fun at her own skiing skills. "I’m not sure why I didn’t qualify."
"Thank you so much @shaniatwain It’s for sure giving me a boost!" Blouin commented on the post. "Waking up to this was incredible."
The Canadian country music legend's thoughtful and supportive message to Blouin was met with praise from fans for supporting a Canadian athlete. Others chimed in to compliment Twain for looking "ageless" and "stunning."
"Shania! You look beautiful as ever. Ageless!" one Instagram user replied to the video. "Thank you for showing love to those Canadian roots and supporting a Canadian athlete! Go team Canada!"
"You are stunning," added another. "We stan a Canadian queen."
"You're still so gorgeous, Shania!" a follower praised.
"How are you still this beautiful?!" penned another.
"I think that is so cool Shania that you reached out to her that's special!" someone else wrote.
Twain's message was in response to Blouin's interview with Maclean's revealing she listens to Twain's "Man! I Feel Like A Woman," before she hits the slopes to compete. According to Blouin, she relied on Twain's voice before earning a silver medal at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang and whenever she competes at the X Games.
“When I hear that song, I just want to dance,” Blouin said. “It revs me up.”
