America’s Got Talent has showcased incredible acts from all over the world on one stage over the past 15 years. Whether you’ve continued watching for the soulful singing, fascinating magic tricks or hilarious ventriloquism, the popular talent series has something for everyone.

For those who can’t get enough of the heart-stopping acrobatic and danger acts in particular though, you’re in luck. Turns out, Simon Cowell is bringing only the most suspenseful routines to the new AGT spinoff America’s Got Talent: Extreme.

If you’re already on your toes, here’s more information about what you can look forward to with AGT: Extreme:

First off, what is AGT: Extreme?

In May 2021, AGT announced the exciting new spinoff on Twitter. “Oh you thought #AGT was extreme enough already?” the show tweeted. “We’re taking the most outrageous and jaw-dropping daredevil acts and having them vie for the ultimate title in AGT: Extreme, coming soon to @NBC! 💥.”

According to Deadline, the new show will feature contestants going "head-to-head in the most wild, wacky and craziest stunts to vie for the ultimate title.” Similar to AGT awarding a $1 million prize to its champions, AGT: Extreme will offer a $500,000 prize to the most daring act.

When does AGT: Extreme start?

AGT: Extreme will premiere on Monday, February 21 at 8 p.m. ET. Though the competition spin-off was previously rumored to debut during the midseason of summer 2021, it's coming to primetime this winter instead.

After NBC delayed the premiere of the new musical competition show American Song Contest, AGT: Extreme was brought in to take over its slot, Deadline reported. Per the outlet, production wrapped up in January and there are a total of eight hour-long episodes that will air in four two hour blocks. That said, this information hasn't been confirmed by the network.

AGT: Extreme will feature Simon, former WWE star Nikki Bella and motorsports racer/stuntman Travis Pastrana as judges. While AGT judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofía Vergara won't be sitting at the judges' table, Terry Crews is joining the AGT: Extreme roster as the host.

Who got hurt on AGT: Extreme?

Last fall, in mid-October, reports said AGT Extreme has temporarily stopped production after an act with stuntman Jonathan Goodwin at Atlanta Motor Speedway went terribly wrong. According to reporting and graphic footage obtained by TMZ, Jonathan was performing a stunt during an AGT rehearsal when he got sandwiched between two cars that were suspended in the air, which prompted a rigged explosive to go off. Per the outlet, Jonathan was supposed to fall underneath the cars before they crashed, but because the timing was off, he was crushed between them and later, per 9-1-1 audio, "fell about 40 feet, missed the airbag [and] landed on his head."

"During a rehearsal last evening for America's Got Talent: Extreme, an accident occurred in which escape artist Jonathan Goodwin was injured while performing his act," a spokesperson for the show told People in a statement. "He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital where he is continuing to receive medical care. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as we await further updates on his condition."

On October 20, Jonathan posted on Instagram to update fans on his road to recovery. "I will have a lot to say on that matter and the benefits of being kind in the future.. but thank you," he wrote in part. "Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent their love and support. It literally has been a lifesaver.

Heidi commented on the post, "Sending you my love as well ❤️ and a speedy recovery ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻."
