Sara Puhto is a body positive blogger with more then 210,000 followers. In her posts, she regularly tackles her struggles with self worth and body image. One of her most recent topics was the importance of loving your body without comparing yourself to anyone else – even your sister.

“When I was growing up I was always jealous of how my sister looked. I was insecure and never felt comfortable in my own skin,” she wrote. “But I’ve realized that everybody’s bodies look different.”

“We always want what we can’t have,” she continued. “Society has taught us to not love our bodies the way they are, and to always be seeking for the next new workout, product, diet to ‘improve’ our bodies.”

While the sisters don’t look anything alike, Puhto highlights why that’s the beauty of the world.

“My body shape is never going to be her body shape. And that’s OK. She is absolutely amazing and so am I, and so are you,” she wrote. “Don’t be so hard on yourself. Your body allows you to do so much. We need to stop shaming each other and ourselves.”

The Finnish blogger’s followers were quick to respond, praising her for widsom beyond her 21 years. Others commented how both bodies are beautiful even despite their differences.

“So young and already figured this out. You can be proud of yourself! I wish I was at your age when I realized this,” wrote one follower.

“This one is so important, thank you for saying what so many girls need to hear. It’s easy to say that you think your body is beautiful, but harder to stick with that once you compare to others. To maintain that love is challenging and essential. You and your sister are both stunning!” added another.

With more than 19,000 likes, Puhto’s message is resounding. When it comes to her Instagram page, this type of honesty is abundant, with consistent messaging surrounding body positivity and the importance of self love.

This isn’t the first time one of her posts have gone viral. Puhto has reached thousands before with messages about Instagram vs. real life and multiple side-by-sides proving the power of angles. But her message regarding self love and genetics is especially important.

“Nobody’s body looks the same 24/7, nobody’s body looks the same in different poses. Love the skin you’re in no matter what.”
