If you’ve never considered an artificial Christmas tree before, this year could be the time to invest.
Not only does an artificial tree mean you won’t be constantly picking up pine needles all winter-long, it will also save you money and time in the years to come, as you can just wheel it out each festive season looking just as perfect as when you bought it.
And, that’s not the only perk.
B&Q have taken artificial trees to new, smart levels in 2020, and have released a 6ft Smart Natural Looking Artificial Christmas Tree that can be controlled via Google Home and Alexa.
Once you have the mobile app set-up, you can control the lights through voice commands, meaning you don’t have to get up off the sofa every time you want to turn the tree on or change the light settings.
As soon as it gets dark outside, simply say “Alexa, tell smart tree, on” and the tree will light up.
You can also use voice commands to switch between the light modes, including multicoloured, traditional white, plus blinking and colour changing modes.
And, at the end of the evening, instead of having to crawl under the tree to get to the plug socket simply say “Hey Google, talk to smart tree, off” or “Alexa, turn smart tree, off” (depending on your smart device) and it will do just that.
Genius? We think so.
