'We still got the result and that's what we've got to look back on'
Former forward Garry Thompson speaking to BBC Radio WM after Aston Villa's win over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League: "Ollie Watkins got himself involved slightly in fits-and-starts and got outwrestled early on, then after that he didn't really get an awful lot of the ball.
"Moussa Diaby who's game is getting the ball into dangerous areas and running in behind as well - they didn't do what they normally do, but they could both be saying 'we didn't get the service we normally want either'. Youri Tielemans drove forward with the ball a few times, but still it isn't the Youri Tielemans we saw at Leicester City, he's not dominating the situation.
"You could say we half-shaved it, half-nicked the game, but [Unai Emery's] played certain players and given them all a chance to show what they needed to do. Your better players today didn't really show up, but we still got the result and that’s what we've got to look back on.
"We're going into he final two games now and we've got a real chance to finish this competition at the top."
