A proposed drag show was a major topic of discussion at a Stockton city council meeting on Tuesday. Pixie Woods is the target venue for the proposed family-friendly drag show set to be hosted by the San Joaquin Pride Center in honor of Pride Month on June 17. Jonathan Lopez, a manager with the pride center, said the show is intended for all ages and would include performers reimagining cartoon characters and touch on themes of acceptance, art, music and education. But some community members, including Jim Shoemaker with the San Joaquin County Republican Assembly, are against this show hosting youth.
