Stormy Daniels's husband files for divorce — and it might get ugly

Stormy Daniels’s husband, Glendon Crain, has filed for divorce. The adult film stars have been together for nearly a decade but wed in 2015. Daniels’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, confirmed the news on Twitter Monday.

“My client Stormy Daniels and her husband Glen have decided to end their marriage. A petition for divorce was filed last week, the accuracy of which is vehemently disputed,” Avenatti wrote.

According to TMZ, Crain has been granted a restraining order against his estranged wife. Daniels must stay away from both him and their 7-year-old daughter. TMZ reports that Crain sought one because Daniels allegedly wanted to bring their little girl on her “Make America Horny Again” tour. The tour bus includes other adult performers, which Crain believes would put their daughter at risk for both physical and emotional harm. He also alleged that Daniels “committed adultery.” A hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Avenatti continued, “Stormy’s daughter remains her number one priority. She kindly asks for privacy for the sake of her family.”

Daniels and Crain — who is also a heavy metal drummer — have rarely been seen publicly since her headline-making allegations that she and President Trump had an affair in 2006, after he married Melania Trump (Trump has denied the claims). Daniels is suing the president to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement she signed ahead of the 2016 election.

Earlier this month, Daniels was arrested at an Ohio strip club for violating an obscure law that prohibits dancers and patrons from having physical contact. Police later said they had made an “error” in her arrest. Marital trouble was suspected when TMZ obtained a copy of the police report, which showed that Daniels marked “no” when asked if she was married.

It’s unclear what prompted Crain, also known as Brendon Miller, to file for divorce. He has remained quiet in the wake of Daniels’ going public about the alleged affair. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Daniels said the level of scrutiny and media attention brought upon her family was difficult.

“My daughter didn’t deserve any of this,” Daniels said. “[Crain] didn’t deserve any of this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an angel. I’m capitalizing on this.” But she the idea that she needed 15 minutes of fame or orchestrated the whole thing was ridiculous. “I didn’t retire, I wasn’t trying to retire, I wasn’t in any sort of need to do this,” she added. “It eclipses everything else that I’ve worked hard on that I wanted to be known as, and I was very happily living incognito back home.”

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, and Crain share just one child. They had been together since 2009. This was the third marriage for Daniels.
