New Survey Shows That Men Are Flocking To Chick-Fil-A For First Dates
It was a little over a year ago when an Atlanta woman set social media on fire after ordering 48 oysters on a first date. The drama set off numerous debates over how much is too much to spend on dinner when getting to know someone romantically. And now, it appears that men have found a way to avoid this pricey predicament by shifting gears a bit. According to a new survey, more and more first dates are taking place at fast food restaurants, and there's a clear favorite.
For the survey, DatingNews.com asked 3,000 American men where they would dine on a first date if visiting a fast food restaurant. It turns out that top honor belongs to none other than Chick-fil-A.
In total, 16% of participants said they would go to Chick-fil-A on a first date. We have to admit that sharing a Cookies & Cream Milkshake and a side of waffle fries does sound like an adorably awkward scene straight out of a rom com. Speaking of frosty treats, the second-place fast food favorite was Dairy Queen. Sonic Drive-In and Pizza Hut tied for third most popular first date destination.
For those who might be a bit hesitant about asking their crush on a date to a fast food chain, the stats show that it's not just men who are cool with this idea.
"Approximately 54% of our survey respondents said they would be up [a first date at a fast food restaurant], while a remarkable 66% of women said they would say yes if a man asked them out to somewhere like McDonald’s," the survey revealed. (There's always date number two for four dozen oysters!)
