From Woman's Day

With her signature brunette locks and megawatt smile, Sandra Bullock looks just as striking at age 56 as she did at 36 (when she starred in the 2000 blockbuster hit, Miss Congeniality). But it's not just her outward appearance, like Sandra Bullock's skincare, that shines, she also has a huge heart. She uses her star power to help promote causes she believes in, making generous donations to various organizations like The American Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders. Plus, she is a single mom to son Louis, 10, and daughter Laila, 5. So, it comes as no surprise that in 2015, at 50 years old, Sandra was selected as People Magazine's Most Beautiful Woman in the World.

If you're curious as to how one of America’s sweetheart manages to keep up her stunning appearances even after three decades in the spotlight, read on for her skincare routine.

She’s a minimalist when it comes to skincare.

In speaking to InStyle Magazine in 2000, Sandra said she prefers to keep things minimal with her beauty routine, "I use a face cloth and Artistry cream." In addition to minimal products, she also doesn’t devote too much time to her routine. When speaking to Marie Claire UK, she admitted that her "entire routine takes eight minutes."

But she’s not afraid to experiment with beauty treatments.

At the London premier of Miss Congeniality 2, Sandra shared, "my favorite beauty-pageant secret: I didn’t realize that putting hemorrhoid ointment on your face is acceptable in the beauty business. But apparently butt cream does help lines around the eyes." Who knew!

...or trendy facials.

While on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018 promoting Ocean’s Eight, Sandra divulged that she has tried the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) facial — or the "Penis Facial" as she referred to it — administered by celebrity facialist Georgia Louise. According to various medical journals, EGF is a protein that is naturally occurring in human skin and helps to produce collagen and elastin which keep the skin looking youthful and taught. As we age, we begin to lose the EGF we were born with. Sandra explained to Ellen's audience that the EGF serum is applied to the skin and then gone over with a micro-needling pen.

"It pushes through the skin, ruptures the collagen and boosts it, and you look like a burn victim for a day," Sandra said. And for the results? Louise told People, "In [Sandra’s] case, the effect of the procedure seems to work great." She also added, "I wanted to give Sandra something that would change her skin without having to go through the lasers and would provide long-term results."

She exfoliates once a week.

When speaking to Vogue, celebrity aesthetician Mila Moursi, who has worked with Sandra, shared that all her clients cleanse daily as part of their skincare routine and exfoliate at least once a week, "exfoliating, liberating your pores clogged from pollution and oils [is important]."

She’s dedicated to a fitness routine.

The star's always toned physique is another contributing factor to not looking her age. When asked how she stays in shape, Sandra told InStyle, "I do Pilates, kickboxing, weight training. When I’m in Austin, I run or ride a bike. If I can work out every day, I will." According to Trevante Rhodes, who starred in Bird Box with Sandra, the actress takes fitness very seriously. "The truth is, before set everyday, she would show up in her workout [apparel]."

She dances it out on the regular.

Stress can cause havoc on all facets of our lives, not to mention our skin. And there is no question that celebrities have added stressors with constantly being in the limelight. To recenter herself, Sandra told InStyle, "at the end of every week I throw on a pair of jeans, take my hair down, and find someplace to just dance, even if it's by myself. That's my therapy."
