The beauty look at the spring 2016 Prada show as all about a 24-karat pout. (Photo: Instagram) The key to making a statement next season? A whole lot of gold. We first saw the metallic accent on the runway during New York Fashion Week, with gold dipped French manicures at Nicholas K and sparkly gold glitter eyes perfected by Aaron de Mey at Creatures of the Wind.
The hair at Calvin Klein, done by Guido Paulo for Redken, was all about individuality. Fashion Week is the place where trends for future seasons are set — from hemlines to hairstyles, color palettes to lipsticks. Designers finally featured some diversity on the runway in the forms of skin tones, hair types, and even body types (did you see Ashley Graham strut her sexy size 14 body down the runway in lingerie?).
Backstage at Michael Kors, I watched on as makeup artist Dick Page demonstrated the makeup look in great detail to his team before the show. The natural, healthy face was created using Michael Kors beauty products as well as a few items from MAC, but the thing that interested me was his use of brown gel eyeliner.
