Leslie Jones absolutely slayed the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of Ghostbusters on Saturday night, all thanks to a Twitter-inspired team-up with Project Runway winner Christian Siriano.
After Leslie Jones took to Twitter to lament no designers wanted to dress her for the Ghostbusters premiere, Christian Siriano came to the rescue. And the end product was worth the frustration. “It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie,” Jones, 48, wrote on Twitter a few weeks ago. Siriano, who married longtime boyfriend Brad Walsh on Saturday, quickly popped up in her Twitter replies with a wave emoji, happily volunteering for the job.
The Saturday Night Live star and comedian, who, with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon, is starring in the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, announced on Twitter that she’s having trouble finding a dress for the premiere. “It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie,” Jones wrote on Twitter. Designer Christian Siriano popped up in her Twitter replies with a wave — he’s been a longtime favorite of tons of stars, including up-and-comers like Danielle Brooks ( who now models for him) and curvy A-listers like Christina Hendricks, who may have trouble wearing straight-from-the-runway samples.
