Was Jessica Simpson Drunk on HSN?

Was Jessica Simpson Drunk on HSN?  Jessica Simpson appeared on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) on Thursday night in a two-hour sellathon with Colleen Lopez. The televised event was a rousing success — Simpson’s products sold out — viewers criticized the designer for her erratic behavior.  During the broadcast, many on social media shared that the 35-year-old, who was on air promoting her popular Jessica Simpson Collection, was slurring her speech, swaying back and forth while on camera, sharing tangential stories, and giggling out of context.  Patricia Paticias accused the mother of two on Facebook of being “either stoned or on some kind of drugs. She kept disappearing, it was just not happening,” adding that she was “definitely a train wreck.” Stefania Campioni Ferrandino wrote, “I am 99% certain that Jessica was 100% inebriated throughout that segment. Wowza.”  Simpson’s most famous on air moment came in the early 2000s on an episode of Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, when she asked her then-husband Nick Lachey if a can of Chicken of the Sea was chicken or fish.
