Having a baby is hard, no doubt. But some women have gotten it in their heads that giving birth is worthy of a gift – preferably an expensive one. “It’s more and more an expectation of moms these days that they deserve something for bearing the burden for nine months, getting sick, ruining their body,” Linda Murray, executive editor of BabyCenter.com told the New York Times. “The guilt really gets piled on.”Kim Kardashian recently shared on her blog that she would like a Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker – valued at close to $1 million – as a push present this time around. Though Kardashian claims to “not believe” in push presents, the star reportedly received a wrist full of Cartier bracelets, valued at around $65,000, after delivering North in 2013. “I like the idea of a push present—after 9 months of pregnancy it’s a sweet and well-deserved thank you.”According to a survey of 30,000 moms by BabyCenter.com, 38 per cent of new moms got a gift for giving birth while 55 per cent wished that they had. “I think husbands are more involved with the prenatal process,” Dr. Philippe Girerd, an obstetrician in Richmond, Va. told the New York Times. “Women go through back pain, morning sickness, stress and so on. We just sit around and take the credit. I think a lot of 21st century husbands are a little more in touch with that.” While push gifts can range from personalized jewelry, to clothing, designer purses and even cars, some women still believe that the real push present is… well, the baby!Click through the gallery above to see some of the gifts new moms have scored. If your definition of grunge starts and ends with Kurt Cobain, here’s an actual one, from the dictionary: : a type of loud rock music that was popular especially in the early 1990s; also : the fashions associated with this type of music : heavy dirt Until now, no one would have ever suggested that “the fashion associated with this type of music” includes tiaras. And yet, as YSL live-tweeted their SS16 runway show, sharing previously shot images of the collection and too-cool models (hey what’s up hello Agyness Deyn!), the brand made not one but two mentions of “the grunge tiara.” First, that classic phrase, “to be worn with anything.”

ALSO SEE: Kiran Gandhi: 26-year-old runs marathon without a tampon and it’s bloody beautiful Thousands of British women have signed petitions and taken to social media to protest the 5 per cent VAT on tampons in the U.K. Tampons are currently classified as luxury products, and many feel that the tax demonstrates a sexist lack of understanding from the government officials – particularly Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.
