For the Golden Globe Awards, most stars opt for expensive jewelry and accessories for their red carpet appearances. However, some fashion trailblazers opt for chic necklaces and hair accessories that anyone can purchase.
Once in a blue moon, celebrities show their human side and don’t bother changing outfits between events — and that’s exactly what Sienna Miller did Monday night.
Shorts are one of the more difficult pieces to pull off, especially when the forecast gets too chilly for bare legs. Just when we thought we had to store them until next spring, Sienna Miller served up the coolest ensemble that’s making us reconsider. During an outing in New York City, the blonde beauty chose to […]

It’s no secret that some of the best dressed stars on the red carpet get help. But, like anything, some help is better than others. Each year the Hollywood Reporter creates a ranking of celebrity stylists. This year’s top spot went to Kate Young, whose roster of clients include some major Hollywood heavyweights. ALSO SEE: Selena Gomez Went Commando in a Black Gauzy Gown“More than anyone else on this list, Young has hit home runs throughout the red-carpet season, from the Cannes Film Festival to the Oscars,” stated the Hollywood Reporter. While she has consistently worked with actresses like Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams over the years, this year she really put her talents to the test by taking on some new clients including Dakota Johnson, Margot Robbie, Selena Gomez and Sienna Miller. ALSO SEE: Selena Gomez, Sienna Miller & More of Kate Young’s Red Carpet TransformationsOne of Young’s favourite looks of the year was a blush Prada slip dress Johnson wore to the “Black Mass” premiere. “It’s hard to pull back and do something so basic,” she said. For Gomez, her biggest risk was a sequined blue cutout dress by Calvin Klein that the singer wore to the Grammys this year. Before Kate Young hit the red carpet at InStyle’s Awards in Los Angeles last week, she was FaceTiming with just one of her many A-list clients. “The James Bond premiere was today in London and Rachel [Weisz] went to that and I was like, ‘Oh that looks good. I like the bag. OK. Good.’”Of all the jobs the iPhone’s made easier, that of a celebrity stylist might be #1. “If they are on a press tour and they are in Russia, I can see them before,” says Young, the 39-year-old platinum blonde responsible for such impeccably pulled together women as Selena Gomez, Dakota Johnson, and Sienna Miller. “Literally they call me and I’m like ‘Oh you look good. You should wear more lipstick.’ I see them all before they go out, which is amazing.” Between blogs breathlessly documenting every dress, shoe, and lipstick an actress wears, and the nonstop stream of social media, celebrities have started wearing five, 10 or even 15 outfits in the 24 hours they spend promoting their latest project in New York or London. That means Young, whose clients collectively gather more attention than any other stylist’s, is responsible for a staggering number of never-before-seen looks. “She’s such a powerful stylist that she gets the best stuff,” Miller told us while promoting her new film, Burnt. “And I really understand the value of having someone who can pull the stuff before anyone else.”In the past year alone, Young has turned an ex-Disney star into a Vuitton-wearing cool kid, an awkward Hollywood heiress who starred in the cheesiest movie of the year (century?) into a couture-wearing covergirl, and a boho-loving Brit into a polished Oscar nominee. "I like doing all different people,” she says when asked if she has any favorites. “It’s more about the women for me. I get really into figuring out who they are and what their style is going to be. One isn’t better than the other; I get more Instagram followers for the younger ones.”Speaking of Instagram, Young has nearly 50K followers, each of whom tune in daily to see who she’s dressed in which just-off-the runway look. She was the first stylist to score a collaboration with Target, one of the first to dress her client’s in Monse (fall’s most talked about label), and might be single-handedly credited for shaping what a best dressed actress looks like in 2015. So what goes into building the perfect outfit? Right now, Young’s feeling pale colors for fall. “I usually gravitate towards navy and charcoal and black, but I’m really into cream and camel for fall,” she says. “And I really love knits—knit dresses and knit skirts, brown suede, which is something I never thought I would say, but I really like it.” The one thing she won’t touch? Turquoise. For further proof of Young’s genius, here are her clients, before and after Kate. Sure the temperatures are beginning to dip, but for a certain swath of fashionable types, it doesn’t matter. They are impervious to weather in fresh-off-the-runway looks from the Spring/Summer 2016 collections. And no, these pieces aren’t available to the general public, that won’t happen for another five months when the clothes actually trickle into stores. Pulling straight from the runway is an act typically reserved for top tier celebs that have various glittery occasions to attend. “I wouldn’t say that celebrities are demanding the newest looks,” says stylist Erin Walsh by way of explanation. “I would say, in general, I want to share the best with the people that I have the opportunity to work with. What is best for them, what suits them, what they feel comfortable in, what most suits that particular occasion, and how they want it to be remembered.”Walsh was among the first to get her hands on Marc Jacobs’s triumphant Spring 2016 collection. A mere three days after the designer’s show at the Ziegfeld Theater, her client, Kerry Washington, dazzled on the red carpet like a glamorous disco ball at the Emmy Awards in Jacobs’s silver sequin dress with thigh-high slit. “We tried it hours after it was shown,” the stylist tells Yahoo Style. “And it kind of went off like a bomb at the Emmys. At least that was the idea.” In fact, Jacobs’s most recent collection has been sough out quite a bit this fall; is there a bigger testament to its greatness? In addition to Washington, both Lady Gaga and Sienna Miller have worn his ornate guipure confections for big red carpet events. Other designers who fall into that category are Proenza Schouler (worn twice by Cate Blanchett as well as Elizabeth Olsen) as well as Oscar de la Renta (favored by Carey Mulligan and Kristen Wiig). Not that these pieces are easy to secure. The stylists not only have to dance around the buyers’ schedules but fellow members of their profession as well. “It is a business of wrangling, and most of it is logistics,” says Walsh. “That said I like to walk kindly and carry a considered stick. It does not have to be a competition, and those who consider as one are so are short sighted. If you are in it for the long haul, as I intend to be, generosity goes a lot farther than being a greedy gal who grabs all the latest looks.” It’s not surprising that some stylists develop pointy elbows, knowing the impact that these wardrobe choices can have not only on their career, but also their client’s. “If someone is photographed in something direct off the runway, it is a coup, because that literally sells the idea of how desirable it is,” says Walsh. “Newness is always titillating.” Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for nonstop inspiration delivered fresh to your feed, every day.
