After an employee tried to make Tamar Braxton feel “less than” for wearing Forever21, she fired back — quite literally. The singer and television personality took to her Instagram on Monday to share that because of a disagreement regarding her $40 camouflage jumpsuit, she cut ties with her stylist.

“The stylist today tried to make me feel ‘less than’ because he didn’t agree that I should wear Forever 21…well…I FIRED him,” Braxton captioned a side-by-side photo of her look for Essence Live. “NO ONE should make you feel ‘less than’ because you have on a $40 outfit!! How AWFUL!! So my clothes make me?! NEVER!!!”

The star continued with her inspiring words, reminding people that confidence has nothing to do with the money you spend on clothes, but instead on being yourself underneath them.

“You BETTER walk in confidence no matter what shape, size, or financial situation!! You are AMAZING and don’t let ANYONE bully you into spending what you have..or NOT..it doesn’t make you ANY LESS FABULOUS!! You make the clothes!! Your SPIRIT makes you!!”

Braxton undoubtedly looks amazing in the jumpsuit, which one fan points out makes it look like a million bucks. “That outfit came all the way to life because the great Tamar wore it,” another said. But along with her lesson on confidence and outfit shaming, Braxton demonstrated the trend of high-low fashion.

The 40-year-old rocked the utilitarian-inspired one-piece with some fancy jewels, and a pair of red-bottom Louboutin boots. Although the expensive accessories certainly help to tie the look together, there’s no reason you can’t dress up the jumpsuit in an affordable fashion. Braxton’s specific jumpsuit from Forever 21 is sure to sell out quickly, but you can achieve a similar look within the same price range with any of the pieces below.
