This Target Maternity Photo Shoot Is an Homage to Moms Everywhere

From Good Housekeeping

When the photographer behind Inspired by a True Store Photography, Heather Pippin, found out one of her friends was pregnant, she knew a maternity photo shoot was in her future. But she didn't want it to be your average session, so she brainstormed with mom-to-be Page Miller of P&T Photography, and together they picked a venue all moms will appreciate: Target.

After all, if you're like us, this store manages to put a smile on your face within minutes of entering, which is exactly what Miller needs at this point of her life. You see, a few months ago, Miller's 3-month-old son, Clarke, passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). So this photoshoot was a way to celebrate her "rainbow baby," while also spreading awareness about SIDS.

Miller also revealed on Facebook she did it for the other moms like her: "[I wanted] to pay homage to all those awesome Target Moms out there. The ones with the messy buns, half-empty-before-you-even-make-it-to-the-back-of-the-store Starbucks cups, toys you aren't really buying and cheese balls to get you through the store."

"Nobody really said anything to us," Pippin told GoodHousekeeping.com. "We treated it as a routine trip to Target and were as discrete as possible to not bother business and to be respectful." But after spending the day exploring the store and being silly with Miller's oldest, Avery, the reactions have been huge. "It's crazy, that's all I can say," Pippin says.

And it's clear from the smiles in the pictures that this experience brought some positivity into Miller's life in the days leading up to the birth to her third child.
