Tayshia Adams Is Reportedly the New Bachelorette

Rachel Lindsay Wants Bachelor Producers to Acknowledge the Show’s Systemic Racism

She's calling for an official statement.

It looks like the upcoming season of The Bachelorette is going to give viewers more than one reason to tune in. While Clare Crawley was previously announced as the franchise's latest lead, sources told E! News that the upcoming season will actually feature two Bachelorettes. Bachelor in Paradise's Tayshia Adams is reportedly stepping into Crawley's heels in a (spoiler) twist that comes after she finds love early in the season.

E! adds that the show had just started production and that instead of jet-setting around the world, the new cast — which includes 42 eligible bachelors vying for Crawley's affections — would be quarantined together at a resort in Palm Springs, California. Fans were tipped off to something in Bachelor Nation when Crawley Liked a post on Twitter over the weekend. Viewers know that the show's contestants have their phones taken away during production, so fans instantly realized something was different. The post in question? E! reports that it was a post speculating that Adams would be the Bachelorette.

"The producers have told her that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors," a source told E!. "Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead."

"It's shaping up to be a very interesting season creatively with lots of twists and turns," an insider told Variety.

Fans were introduced to Adams during Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor back in 2019. She stayed in the fold with an appearance on the sixth season of Bachelor in Paradise and seemed to hit it off with John Paul Jones, who appeared on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette. The two separated in October 2019.

There's been no official statement from Adams or ABC about the rumors, though Variety notes that there may not be one. "The drama will be saved for the season when it airs this fall," the industry publication wrote.
