Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins Learned a Surprising Parenting Lesson on Their Recent Family Vacation

From Woman's Day

Thomas Rhett has been a father for more than four years, but a parent never stops learning!

The country star took to his Instagram on Wednesday to share a surprising parenting lesson he learned while spending some much-anticipated "alone time" on the beach with his wife, Lauren Akins.

"As a parent you talk about alone time a bunch. Then you get it. 12 minutes in you say, 'wow I miss my kids' 😂, " Thomas Rhett captioned a smiling photo of himself and Lauren, who share three daughters: Lennon Love, 5 months, Ada James, 2, and Willa Gray, 4.

Many fans took to the comments section to second Thomas Rhett's sentiments.

"Haha truth," one commenter said.

"Still say this after being a parent for 20 years!" another fan wrote. "Alone time is fantastic... but so is being a parent!"

But there was one notable person who did not agree. Producer and DJ Diplo, who has three young sons, joked, "Not me," with a woozy face emoji.

“When you have kids during this time you definitely have to figure out new ways to allow them to have fun while also kind of exercising their brain," he added. “We’ve just been finding new ways to get outside. We’ll go swing in the hammock, we’ll go walk in the woods, we’ll play in the pool, we’ll go to Chick-fil-A’s drive-thru. I mean honestly, walking to the mailbox has kind of been the highlight of our days, most days.”
