3 unclothed teens lead troopers on a high-speed chase and this is the 'Thelma and Louise' remake Florida deserves
Three women not wearing any clothes lead Florida troopers on a wild chase Wednesday that ultimately ended with them locking arms and then being tasered.
ABC 10 News reports that at approximately 11:15 a.m., a Florida state trooper was responding to a call regarding a person spotting three scantily clad women at the northbound I-75 rest area in Pasco County. When Trooper Danielle Poulin arrived, she did, in fact, find three women going au naturel, who were allegedly "air drying" after taking showers — a statement that only raises more questions than answers. While rest areas are a convenient place for drivers to take a break or use the bathroom, there are no showers in interstate rest areas, unlike truck stops.
As the trooper was trying to gather information from the women, they fled and entered a white 2009 Nissan Sentra. The car traveled southbound into the northbound rest area entrance, turned around, and headed northbound on I-75 toward State Road 52.
The trooper initially pursued the vehicle, but the pursuit was canceled as it did not fit Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) criteria.
A citizen, who WFLA identifies as a retired officer, called FHP to report the reckless vehicle. The citizen trailed the car and provided updates of the car’s whereabouts to dispatch.
The Ledger reports that Trooper Christopher Brando was in the area and witnessed the vehicle driving in the wrong direction briefly before it turned around and he initiated a pursuit. Trooper Brando successfully deployed StarChase projectiles, which allowed dispatch to track the vehicle.
The vehicle was tracked to a convenience store parking lot. Upon Trooper Ronald Paulin's arrival, the three women were exiting the store and entering the car. The outlet does not report if the women were still undressed. Paulin was able to stop one female and, during the process of trying to arrest her, the driver of the vehicle drove purposefully at the trooper causing him to disengage. The passenger then exited the car with a metal bat. Sgt. Dennis Rich, who was nearby and saw that the trooper was in danger, rammed the suspect's vehicle with his patrol car and the three women fled again.
Dade City Police Department responded to the area and deployed stop sticks, which deflated the right side tires of the getaway car. Trooper Brando was authorized to use the PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver which promptly ended the chase.
The three women refused to exit the vehicle and resisted arrest. As they were interlocking their arms together, a trooper broke the window, and the three women were tasered before being taken into custody.
The women were identified as Oasis Shakira McLeod, 18, who was the driver, Jeniyah McLeod, 19, and Cecilia Eunique Young, 19. They were charged with fleeing to elude, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, and lewd acts.
FHP did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment.
