In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish confirms rumours that Sanaa Lathan bit Beyoncé in December of last year.

Written by Lacey Rose, the interview takes place during a cross-country flight from San Francisco to New York City during which Haddish discusses the backlash from the Love & Basketball star, Lathan’s family.

“I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad [Stan, a producer-director], and they were mad at me,” Haddish revealed. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyonce kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.”

In December 2017, during a private party for Jay Z’s 4:44 tour stop in Los Angeles. Haddish later told GQ magazine she had witnessed an actress bite Beyoncé on the face but would not reveal names.

When rumours began circulating that it was Lathan, the actress denied the allegations on Twitter writing, “Y’all are funny. Under no circumstances did I bite Beyonce and if I did it would’ve been a love bite.”

The Hollywood Reporter asked Haddish whether or not she experienced any fallout from revealing the incident.

Considering the comedian’s rising fame, it came as no surprise when Haddish revealed that she’s been invited to more parties than ever before.

“The other day, someone was saying, like, ‘Oh my God, you should keep your mouth shut ’cause now you’re never gonna be invited to parties,’ but I got invited to way more parties after that,” she said. “It’s ridiculous how many parties. ‘Can you come to my party?’ ‘Can you come to my thing?’ They want me to talk about something at their thing ’cause they think, like, ‘This is gonna put me back on if Tiffany says something.'”

Neither Lathan or Beyoncé have responded to the confirmation of the incident, but one can almost be certain the actress will feel the sting of the Beyhive.
