TikTok user discovers bizarre ‘secret room’ after checking into hotel chain: ‘How long has this been going on?’
A Best Western in Galena, Ill., is going viral on TikTok thanks to a strange hidden feature.
By now, users on the app have gotten used to surprises. In the past few months alone, TikTokers have discovered “hidden” speakers in their neighborhoods, “creepy” staircases in homes for sale and even a secret pool inside of a garage.
This latest discovery, courtesy of user @aprettycoolhoteltour, is something special though. While visiting a Best Western in Galena, Ill., the user stumbled upon some uncommon room options.
“Next time you’re at a generic-looking Best Western, you might want to ask them if they have any secret theme rooms in the basement,” the user captioned their video.
In the clip, the user proceeded to film the walk to their room, which, it’s safe to say, did not look very typical.
The room seems to feature some glow-in-the-dark lighting, plus a jacuzzi and a large, circular bed. There’s even a full aquarium next to the tub.
“Are you surprised?” @aprettycoolhoteltour wrote in their post.
In short, TikTok users were very surprised. Many expressed their shock in the comments, saying the room either scared them or excited them — or both.
“This absolutely can’t be real,” one user wrote.
“Why do I feel like this is how you get murdered,” another joked.
“Not just surprised. Literally blown away,” another wrote. “How long has this been going on?”
It’s unclear how long the rooms have looked this way, or whether other Best Westerns have similar features. However, a look at the Galena location’s website shows that there are at least a few themed rooms available.
The option featured on TikTok appears to be the “Pearl Under The Sea” room. Meanwhile, there’s also a Roman palace-themed room, a “Crystal Cave” room and a romantic “Heart’s Delight” room.
