Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Just Shared a Bunch of Never-Before-Seen Photos in Honor of Their Anniversary

From Woman's Day

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are among music's most iconic couples, with one of the longest-lasting marriages in the industry. In the span of two decades, the country stars have collaborated on award-winning songs, tours, and even a joint album — not to mention three kids.

"It's such a rare thing to be able to experience what we do for a living, and to do it together, really feels like all the moments are special," Tim, 53, told People. Added Faith, 51, "I watch him perform and still to this day I'm awed by it."

The duo recently commemorated their 24th wedding anniversary by sharing never-before-seen photos of their life together on Instagram, along with adorable captions. "Forever and always living and loving our way through anything," Tim wrote.

"The one that stole my heart 24 years ago today," Faith captioned her photo.

In honor of their milestone, we're looking back at how this legendary love story began:

Tim and Faith first met in 1994, at a Country Radio Seminar showcase for new artists. Despite having a girlfriend at the time, Tim has since said it was love at first sight for him — but not for Faith, who had just split from her husband of six years, music publishing exec Daniel Hill.

Two years later, Faith joined Tim on his Spontaneous Combustion Tour. This time, fittingly, sparks flew. Tim was newly single at the time, but Faith was engaged to her former producer, Scott Hendricks.

Faith followed her heart, breaking off her engagement to begin a relationship with fellow artist Tim instead.

"If someone is going to judge my character because I was engaged to somebody and then I left him for somebody else," she told People in 1998, "I can't control that. But I wasn't about to let Tim slip through my hands."

After a few months on tour together, Tim told Faith he wanted to get married. "She said, 'We're at a country music festival in a trailer house, and you're asking me to marry you?'" he recalled in a video for their anniversary in 2015. "And I said, 'Yeah.'"

Tim went out on stage, and when he returned, Faith had written her answer on the dressing room mirror with a Sharpie and lipstick: "Yes! I'm gonna be your wife."

In October, the duo tied the knot in a private wedding in Tim's hometown of Rayville, Louisiana.

It wasn't long before the newlyweds welcomed their first child. Gracie Katherine McGraw arrived in May 1997, followed by Maggie Elizabeth McGraw in August 1998 and Audrey Caroline McGraw in December 2001.

"I had a very dysfunctional childhood," Tim said in an interview with Billboard. "So I wanted what I didn't have: a stable family."

That desire for stability is what eventually led Tim to give up alcohol, drugs, carbs, and sugar, a decision that also resulted in a dramatic weight loss.

Faith and Tim took turns staying home with their daughters as they enjoyed individual successes. They also debuted several duets — including Grammy Award-winning hits "Let's Make Love" and "Like We Never Loved At All."

In 2000, the husband and wife embarked on their Soul2Soul Tour, then went back on the road in 2006 for Soul2Soul II. At the time, the latter made history as the top-grossing country music tour ever. Soul2Soul: The World Tour came in 2017, as did their first-ever joint album, The Rest of Our Life.

As much as they are together, Tim and Faith take time for themselves, too. "We both have our daily routines and we have our own dressing rooms," Faith said to People of their secret to a happy marriage. "We each have our own space to retreat to so we do get time to ourselves."
