While brands like Junior Mints and Mike & Ike have come under fire for under-filling their candy boxes, an organic chocolate company is selling giant bags filled with more chocolate than you could ever imagine - or eat on your own. Each 3-foot-tall bag contains a crazy 2,000 individually-wrapped squares of dark chocolate.
ChocXO, based in Irvine, California, featured the giant chocolate bags in its 2017 gift guide, advertising them as perfect for showrooms, clients, landlords, and office buildings. Each bag weighs 22 pounds and is a whopping 40 inches tall, so at least buyers will get a workout in trying to carry it home. They come in two flavors - Organic 56% Dark Chocolate and 37% Milk Chocolate.
The bags sold for $325 each, but now that the holidays are over, some have made their way to discount stores like T.J. Maxx. A Reddit user posted this insane photo of her 5'7" dad next to one of the bags, which she says her mom paid $125 for at T.J. Maxx.
Another Reddit user said they saw the same bag at a HomeGoods for $199, so the cost may vary by location. Either way, that's a whole lot of chocolate for less than a buck a pop.
Aside from the enormous chocolate bags, ChocXO also sells a variety of dark and milk chocolate bars and snacks at its Irvine retail store and in shops like Costco, Bristol Farms, HomeGoods, Marshalls and T.J. Maxx.
