  • Al Roker has three kids.

  • His son, Nick, is beginning to look at colleges.

  • Al shared a selfie of himself, Deborah, and Nick setting off for a college visit.

Al Roker proves, yet again, that he’s more relatable than one might think!

Now that his son Nick is starting to think about college, Al is raring to help him find the best fit. While some celebrities might hire someone to introduce their kids to college or even set up an ultra-private tour, Al is taking it into his own hands.

“A family #collegevisit #roadtrip,” he captioned the photohis wife Deborah took on Instagram, in which he looks to be behind the wheel, with Deborah in the passenger seat, and Nick smiling in the back. “The first of a few college visits.”

While the photo itself might seem like such a normal, simple thing for everyday folks, knowing that it’s not always the case for celebrities is making fans love the share that much more. “Great checking out [colleges] for Nick,” one fan applauded the gesture. “This is exciting. Good luck Nick and Mom and Dad!” another fan quipped. “Exciting times!!! You and your wife have prepared him well,” another fan commented.

While some fans used the post as an opportunity to usher Nick to their school, many others commented the same suggestion: SUNY Oswego.

For those that don’t know, Oswego is Al’s alma mater. While he graduated in 1976, he returned to the university to teach a broadcasting course entitled “Camera Ready: Developing Your On-Air Persona” in the fall of 2019.

On TODAY earlier this week, Al revealed that he isn't exactly ready to let Nick go and become an empty nester with Deborah. (Al's daughter Courtney recently got married, while his other daughter Leila is currently living in Paris). “I just ... I don’t know that I’m ready for him to leave yet,” Al confessed. “But time marches on."

Wherever Nick ends up, we wish him well (and hope to see more family photos from the college tour, soon)!
