Tom Ford’s ‘Nocturnal Animals’ Official Trailer Released
The theatrical release for “Nocturnal Animals” is still a month away, but those who haven’t caught an early screening of the film can still get a feel for Tom Ford’s sophomore cinematic effort through a new trailer. Released this morning, the official trailer for the film delivers an almost two-minute look at the dramatic thriller, which stars Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Since debuting at the Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the Grand Jury Prize, the film has continued to attract award season buzz for its cast amidst a pool of other highly anticipated fall film releases. The “Nocturnal Animals” ensemble certainly has built-in wardrobe options for any ceremonies they may need to attend this season.
The stylized film is based on the novel “Tony and Susan” by Austin Wright, and was adapted for the screen by Ford himself. The story is centered around the lonely and fractured home life of a successful L.A. gallery owner (Adams), who receives a violent and jarring manuscript from her ex-husband (Gyllenhaal).
“It resonated with me because it’s really about finding those people in life that you love and holding onto them,” Ford explained last month at the film’s Toronto International Film Festival premiere. “There are people in my life that I just don’t let go of and that’s what this is about, not letting go of those people who are important to you.”
“Nocturnal Animals” will be released on Nov. 19.
