Travel blogger poses in front of moving train to get the perfect shot and people are confused and concerned

A travel blogger is being called out for her “dangerous behavior” after she shared a photo of herself on social media posing in front of a moving train.

While in Thailand, the Instagram blogger who has garnered over 30,000 followers, visited Maeklong Railway Market. The tourist destination is infamous for the train that travels directly through the stalls, with salespeople quickly packing up their goods to move to either side to let it pass.

But rather than move aside, the Singapore-based blogger risked her life by remaining on the tracks to get the perfect picture.

Fans were not impressed, with many slamming her for acting “inappropriately.”

“Ya but you don’t mind to do anything for social media content even if it’s dangerous,” one commented. Another added, “If you tripped or something you would have been dead.”

Despite her dedication, many fans were concerned about the message she was promoting to others. (Photo: Instagram/oneoceanaway_)

While some fans appreciated the blogger’s “dedication,” many voiced concern that this could encourage others to try something similarly reckless for the perfect gram. “You shouldn’t promote this, you are giving the wrong impression of safety and some people following you might get hurt if they do the same,” one person said. “I’ve been there and though the train is slow, everyone should be out of the railway when it comes by.”

Similarly, another added, “Great that you’ve created such a crazy photo, now let’s hope there are no kids out there stupid enough to copy it.”

But it seems that could be a little too late:

This place was a sight to see. The train comes So close to you that you can literally touch it… The shop keepers put their items on tables with rollers so they can push it inside the store every time the train comes. When the train is not there, the shop keepers display the items up to the railway track and the only way to explore this market is by walking along the track in the hustle and bustle of tourists looking at what this market has to to offer and the locals who come there to buy their daily groceries… we got there just in time to capture this moment as it unfolds… . . People really need to calm down. First of all, the train that comes on this track is super slow, you can walk faster then the train. Secondly the train is not coming towards me but moving away from me. THIS IS THE BACK OF THE TRAIN, Thirdly once the train leaves we are encouraged to move back on the track so the locals can start displaying their items again. Like I mentioned above the only way to shop in this place is by WALKING ON THE RAILWAY TRACKS because the shop keepers display their items upto the railway track. . If you haven’t been to this place yourself stop passing judgment on others. I don’t encourage people to take photos on railway tracks, as not all rail way tracks are the same, nor should you risk your life for a photo. I’m not the type of person to risk my life for a pic either, if this wasn’t a 100% safe I wouldn’t do this. #holiday #trainmarket #bangkok

After receiving significant backlash the blogger responded saying: “First, this is not dangerous at all, and second I am not the first and won’t be the last person taking a photo here or any other dangerous places. It is on ourselves to be aware of the dangers and the limits. Even if I would not take this photo, people would anyway. I am not a person who takes a big risk just for a photo, I value my safety and life.”

Some people did praise the shot, calling it “amazing,” “stunning” and “worth the risk.”

Despite standing up for herself, she later decided to remove the photo.
