A roster of guest hosts that have been tapped to helm Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" following Noah's departure in December.

While fans wait for the network to announce a permanent host, here's what to expect at the long-running current events program until then.

Who is hosting 'The Daily Show' now?

Leslie Jones was the first to step in for Noah. Comedy Central has slated several comedians to fill Noah's shoes for the foreseeable future. Here is the guest-host schedule:

• Week of Jan. 16: Leslie Jones

• Week of Jan. 23: Wanda Sykes

• Week of Jan. 30: D.L. Hughley

• Week of Feb. 6: Chelsea Handler

• Week of Feb. 13: Sarah Silverman

Al Franken, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn and Marlon Wayans are also expected to take turns hosting

Who is the new permanent host of 'The Daily Show?'

Comedy Central has yet to announce a new permanent host of the show.

Why did Trevor Noah leave the show?

Noah announced he was leaving "The Daily Show" during a taping on Sept. 29.

"After the seven years, my time is up, but in the most beautiful way, honestly. I’ve loved hosting this show," he said, reflecting on the network's "crazy choice" to bring him in. "But after seven years I feel like it's time."

He later said he was looking forward to traveling and having more time for himself.

"There's one thing in life you never get back and that's time," Noah said. "I now find myself excited at getting back to doing a few of the things that I did around the world that I really loved."

On Friday, Noah is making good on his word by kicking off his 28-city North American stand-up tour titled the "Off The Record Tour."

When was Trevor Noah's last day?

Noah bid farewell to "The Daily Show" on Dec. 8 with a "special shoutout to Black women."

"I always tell people, if you truly want to learn about America, talk to Black women." He said that this is because, "unlike everybody else, Black women can't afford to (expletive) around and find out."

"Black people understand how hard it is when things go bad, especially in America or anywhere where Black people exist," he said, adding that Black women in particular "know what happens if things do not go the way they should."

"I'll tell you now, do yourself a favor: If you truly want to know what to do or how to do it or maybe the best way or the most equitable way, talk to Black women," he continued. "They're a lot of the reason that I'm here."

Who else has hosted 'The Daily Show?'

"The Daily Show" was hosted by Craig Kilborn from 1996 to 1998 and Jon Stewart from 1999 to 2015. Noah took over the show in 2015.
