Try a Royal Family-Favorite Summer Dessert

In her years as monarch, Queen Elizabeth has sampled the world's finest desserts. She's come to select a handful of favorite treats, including a chocolate mousse, Christmas pudding, and birthday cupcakes. However, there is one dessert that is so popular among the royals that they keep serving it year after year: strawberries and cream.

The royal family has served strawberries and vanilla cream for centuries. According to People, Cardinal Wolsey, a close friend of King Henry VIII, was credited as the first person to make the dish in the 16th century. Now, close to 192,000 portions of the dessert are served at the Wimbledon tennis championships each year.
