A Viewer Called Out Kelly Ripa for Her “Lack of Personal Grooming”

And of course, she had the best response.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic has forced Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest to film Live with Kelly and Ryan from their own homes, the two have been handling their daily hair and makeup on their own — and earning critics in the process. According to E! News, Ripa faced some criticism on her "lack of personal grooming" in her latest Instagram post, which was a promo clip for the upcoming season of the morning show.

"I swear I don't actually brush my teeth like that," Ripa wrote on Instagram. The clip showed her and Seacrest getting ready for their time in front of the camera, though few people probably wake up in full-on glam, like Ripa does in the video. "#KellyandRyan returns this fall!"

It's been nearly five months since the two have filmed from home and some viewers aren't happy with the DIY approach to makeup.

"The only issue I have with this show (and I watch daily since I am at home nowadays) is the lack of personal grooming," a critic noted, adding that there should be higher standards for the show, since many people have to get dressed and made up for Zoom meetings fro home. "I mean it's a nationally televised show. And I have to get dressed for every Zoom work call so why can't you guys."

Clapping back like a pro, Ripa didn't hold back, saying that she'd take the comments to the right people.

"I'll bring it up at the next meeting," Ripa replied.

Back in 2018, Ripa responded to another comment that involved her husband, Mark Consuelos.

"Too bad he's short when he tries to look taller," a commenter wrote. "It looks funny. Just be who you are."

Ripa responded with, "He's tall where it counts babe."
