So many cliffhangers and so many mysteries to be solved next season. What's the latest on Virgin River season 4? We've got all the major details gathered below:

It's hard to say at this point when fans should expect the next installment to hit Netflix. If the Virgin River cast and crew is filming up until November 30, the show will likely not come out with new episodes until spring 2022.

Based on what happened in season 3, we can assume the following cast members will reprise their roles:

  • Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel Monroe

  • Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan

  • Daniel Gillies as Mark

  • Annette O'Toole as Hope McCrea

  • Tim Matheson as Doc Mullins

  • Colin Lawrence as John "Preacher" Middleton

  • Teryl Rothery as Muriel

  • Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie

  • Grayson Maxwell Gurnsey as Ricky

  • Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine

  • Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dan Brady

  • Zibby Allen as Brie Sheridan

  • Marco Grazzini as Mike

Unfortunately, season 3 included the death of Lilly (Lynda Boyd), which means the character and actress will only appear in season 4 flashback scenes, if at all.

As for what's going on with Hope (Annette O'Toole), the town gossip will likely play a bigger part in season 4 than she did in season 3. According to what Virgin River showrunner Sue Tenney told Us Weekly, Hope only appeared in Zoom calls this season because the actress couldn't film in person in Vancouver amid the coronavirus pandemic. But rest assured, Sue confirmed that Hope will be back.

As for new cast additions, Deadline confirms that Mark Ghanimé and Kai Bradbury will join season 4 as regulars. Kai will portray a character named Denny Cutler, Doc's long-lost grandson. We see him show up at Virgin River to try to connect with Doc — apparently though, he's holding onto a deep-dark secret. As for Mark, the actor will play Dr. Cameron Hayek, the clinic's new physician who makes "an immediate splash in town" with the ladies.

The season 3 finale sure left us with plenty of questions — Is Hope going to be okay? What's going to happen to Paige, Preacher and Christopher now? Are the babies Jack's? Is Ricky going to leave Virgin River? What will become of Brady? Is Charmaine going to win custody of the twins?

So many cliffhangers will surely lead to an explosive season 4. From what we gather, Sue told Entertainment Weekly that we'll begin to get some concrete answers next season. For starters, Sue confirmed that fans should be pretty worried about Paige, Christopher and Preacher at the moment.

"Given a fourth season, we're going to bring everything together with Paige and Preacher, and it's going to come to a very dramatic end at the end of season 4," she spilled.

What's more, we will eventually learn who shot Jack in the season 2 finale, though it might take some time. We also might start to see a love triangle develop between Brie, Mike and Brady following Brady's arrest. As for the Charmaine-Jack drama, Sue revealed that they have a "pretty big bombshell" in store for her next season that will "blow everybody away." Hmm, what if the twins aren't Jack's after all? Just throwing that prediction out there ...

But that's not all. Martin himself told TVLine that, believe it or not, Jack's world may just get even more complex thanks to his ex-wife, Mandy, from the past. "Mandy showing up in Virgin River would complicate things even more. It’s possible with this show," Martin hinted to the outlet.

Okay, so what about Hope and Doc? Sue confirmed to EW that Hope will survive her car accident, though her road will not be easy when we see her again. "To us, it's the recovery and what she's dealing with — a traumatic brain injury. In a hospital and going through recovery, that's not really where our show lives. But we're very committed to what the truth of something is, so we'll go to the edge of what's the best recovery for this," she explained.

Meanwhile the revelation about Doc's new grandson will surely make things more complex for Hope and Doc in the episodes to come.

But wait, there's more — Sue told TV Line that fans will definitely learn if the father of Mel's baby is Jack by the end of the fourth season. We'll also find out what's in store for Ricky and Lizzie, who seem to be at a crossroads.

"Ricky and Lizzie are growing and maturing at different rates, but we hope they’ll get to the same place at a certain point. And that’s the best way to describe that relationship — it’s the timing thing we go through," Sue told TV Line.

Long story short, we have a lot of drama to look forward to when season 4 comes out, so prepare yourselves accordingly.
