Wendy’s Is Giving Out Free Kids’ Meals to Kick Off the School Year

Customers can get a free kids' meal with the purchase of a premium combo meal from Aug. 12 through Sept. 2

In honor of back-to-school season, the fast food spot is offering customers a free kids' meal with the purchase of a premium combo meal. The deal was first available on Aug. 12 and will be available through Sept. 2.

Wendy’s kids' meals include a choice of four-piece chicken nuggets (regular or spicy), cheeseburger or hamburger and either Jr. French fries or apple slices. Plus, kids can choose a drink, like blueberry pomegranate lemonade or chocolate milk, and a toy.

All of this is free when a customer buys a premium combo meal, which consists of a premium sandwich (like a Baconator or spicy chicken sandwich), a side item and a beverage. The exact price of a premium combo meal depends on the main chosen and the restaurant location but it typically ranges from $10 to $15.

The offer is only available in the Wendy’s app and there is a limit of one free kids' meal per customer per visit — but there is no limit to how many times fans can use the deal during the offer period.

While grabbing the meal deal, parents should save room for dessert. A small chocolate or triple berry Frosty from Wendy's is $1 through Sept. 15. Best of all, there is no limit to the number of discounted frozen treats.

Burger King is also handing out kids' meals for the start of school. Customers can grab a free King Jr. Meal from Aug. 12 through Aug. 25 with a $10 purchase at BK.

Kids can choose between a double cheeseburger, four-piece chicken nuggets, six-piece chicken nuggets, cheeseburger and hamburger for their main. For their side, there's a choice of French fries, onion rings, Have-sies (half French fries and half onion rings) or apple sauce. The kids' meal also includes a drink and choice of a toy or a chocolate chip cookie.
