Whoopi Goldberg has revealed she is writing a superhero film about an older Black woman, saying it's "old Black women" who are "really going to save the Earth".

The Ghost star, 65, is a big fan of superheroes and told Variety that she is now penning her own script about one.

The movie will focus on a Black lady who has to learn how to use her special powers.

Goldberg said: “Since I was a little kid, I’ve been obsessed with superheroes. They’re all saving the Earth all the time.

“But do you know who’s really going to save the Earth? Old Black women.”
