Who's number one in 2021?

The FFL crew explains which players to grab with the first pick in 2021 fantasy drafts.

MATT HARMON: Yeah, I'm going to keep it simple. It's Derrick Henry, all right? Listen, I realize that he's never going to get the type of target volume that you want from your number one back You know, Alvin Kamara, Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, maybe [INAUDIBLE] 2021, oh geez. Forgot about that guy. Those guys are going to get more targets. They're going to catch more passes than Derrick Henry, but who cares!

This guy is a touchdown monster. He's going to finish first in the NFL in rushing for a second year in a row. That's Hall of Fame stud type stuff. This guy is just a different type of dude. He is a different built running back, and I think we should stop doubting-- like when is this train going to slow? When is the regression going to hit? It's not. I don't think it's going to hit in 2021.

This is one of, again, the best offensive eco-systems in the NFL. It's a system that's catered to him. That's exactly what we're looking for in our fantasy backs. So yes, I'm taking him number one, overall, next year and I'm not thinking twice.

ANDY BEHRENS: Liz, is it Henry for you as well?

LIZ LOZA: I mean, yes. I almost wish I was going later, after you gentlemen, because it is Derrick Henry. It is Dalvin Cook. It is, maybe, Alvin Kamara coming off of six touchdowns on Christmas Day. But you know what? I'm going to use my time to remind everyone that Nick Chubb is the most underrated running back in the damn league.

He is averaging 93 yards per week. He's got 10 touchdowns on this season-- and that was after missing four games. I don't want to talk about volume, he's got the volume. Kevin Szymanski is giving him the volume. He has also been ripping off long runs and crushing efficiency arguments on a week to week basis. He is number one in breakaway run rate, number one enduke rate. He's averaging 5.9 yards per touch. So, eight months from now-- when you aren't given one of the first five or six picks in your draft-- remember that Nick Chubb is a damn gift, not somebody you settle for.

ANDY BEHRENS: Tank, do you have a damn gift for us?

[CHUCKLES]

TANK: Absolutely, and my damn gift is Dalvin Cook. Now I mean, I know y'all know that Derrick Henry's my dude. But if I have to choose someone else, it's going to be Dalvin Cook. And plus, you know, Minnesota Vikings that's the second team that cut me the check. So, it's all good.

But this dude is still the high scoring running back. Even after Alvin Kamara hit folks with the double Bundy-- and I may be dating myself. I mean, you know Al Bundy scored three touchdowns in one game. And this dude hit you with 6!

[CHUCKLES]

And so, with Dalvin Cook being the man and showing that he can be the dominant dog-- whether his team is booboo, or whether Kirk Cousins is booboo-- I feel like he's the logical choice to be the number one pick. So I'm keeping it 100, King Henry is my dude. But if he's gone, I have zero worries about taking my man, Mr. Dalvin at number two.

ANDY BEHRENS: Yeah listen, I got to take Derrick Henry as well. There's just no way I could construct an argument for anybody else. This is going to be two straight seasons with rushing titles-- in which he leads the league in rushing touchdowns. It's five plus yards per carry. As Matt said, no, there's not some great receiving element to his game. But he's still seeing 24 touches per week.

Guy never gets injured, he's the absolute centerpiece of his team's offense. We're going to look at these stats-- when it's time to draft in 2021-- and he's going to be coming off a 1900 yard season. This is an absolutely ridiculous two year run that he's on. He's only 27 years old, so we don't really have to worry about him being on the wrong side of 30, or anything like that. He's perfect age, perfect system, and almost perfect fantasy running back.
