Why Is Gigi Hadid Wearing a Band on Her Ring Finger?
New ink. New ring. Does this mean … wedding?
By traditional standards, a gold band on the ring finger of the left hand does symbolize a solid union. Which is why seeing Gigi Hadid with a thin gold band on that very finger has got our attention.
Earlier this week, the model was spotted in NYC rocking the new accessory on the finger that is usually reserved for engagement and wedding rings. If she had been wearing a regular outfit, we wouldn’t have been so suspicious because it could have just been an accessory. But she was wearing workout clothes, so although the band was simple enough to go with a workout, why would someone feel the need to throw on that ring just for a sweat sesh, unless it was more than an accessory?
Plus, there was the rumor that her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, proposed to her over Christmas, and she turned him down. But that was never confirmed, so we didn’t take it too seriously until now.
OK, it’s just a ring. But actually, it’s maybe not. Because Tuesday night, Malik was seen with a new tattoo. The word “love” is scrawled across his knuckles in script. Maybe it’s dedicated to his girlfriend of more than a year.
We’re guessing Hadid’s ring would’ve been bigger if she’d gotten engaged … so did they already get hitched? Probably not, but we do love them together, so call it wishful thinking.
