Meghan Markle is on maternity leave this summer, but she isn't the only royal who will be taking a break from public duties until the fall. Hello! reports that the royal family's summer holiday has begun, and Kate Middleton and Prince William also won't really be working until September. This break happens every year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do have one event on their calendar though: on August 9, they will host The King's Cup sailing regatta and compete in an eight-boat race. The couple may also do some private engagements during the next month and could attend a public polo match or two.

Kate and William were last out on Sunday, when they attended the Gentlemen's Singles final together at Wimbledon. They also went to the match last year. For the event, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a Cinderella-blue Emilia Wickstead dress. William matched her in a grey suit with a light blue button-up top and darker blue tie.

The day before, Kate was at Wimbledon with Meghan Markle for the duchesses' first joint event in a year. They watched the Ladies' Singles final with Kate's sister Pippa Middleton.

A source told ELLE.com that day that “Kate and Meghan had always planned to attend the final together. Not only is it something that they enjoy, it’s also a chance to remind people that the tabloid stories about their relationship have been wide of the mark."

The two women have also become closer since Meghan welcomed her first child, Archie. “Catherine and Meghan enjoy seeing each other, and motherhood has definitely brought them closer together,” a source told ELLE.com.
