Why Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker “Had to” Legally Get Married Yesterday
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are married! Like, for real this time! After attempting to get married in Las Vegas back in April, the couple have officially tied the knot in Santa Barbara.
Photos of Kravis next to a car with “Just Married” on it first dropped on TMZ, which reported that they “got the legal paperwork in order Sunday—so they are, in fact, married now.” The outlet also noted that Kourt and Travis are “having an actual wedding ceremony in Italy in the near future.”
So why get married now if they’re getting married again in Italy? A source tells People that “they had to legally get married first ahead of their big Italian wedding, which is happening very soon. All the details are set and the whole family, including all the kids, are very excited.”
Only a couple of family members were in attendance for Kravis’s legal wedding on Sunday, specifically Kourt’s grandmother and Travis’s dad.
Kourtney previously spoke about her Las Vegas wedding to Jimmy Kimmel, saying they tried their best to get a license but everything was closed. “Well, it’s not called fake married,” she said. “There was no, like, possibility to get a marriage license at that hour. I’m like, ‘Are you guys lying?’ We asked, like, five times, what do we have to do to make this happen? It was 2 a.m. and they were like, ‘It opens at 8 o’clock.’ We just did it anyway, it’s what’s in the heart.”
