Lori Loughlin's daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli is maybe single, maybe taken by her ex again, and she definitely wants you to wonder about it. Us Weekly got a little intel from a source about what's going on with the Boomerang Instagram Story Olivia's ex-boyfriend Jackson Guthy shared of himself kissing Olivia on the cheek. It sparked reconciliation headlines. And that was exactly the point.

“Olivia and Jackson both love the media attention and love to keep people speculating about their relationship,” an insider told Us Weekly. “It’s what they’re going for.”

It's worth noting that Olivia has been radio silent on her own Instagram (publicly; Us reported earlier that she has posted private Instagram Stories for close friends) since the college admissions cheating scandal broke. She appeared tagged on Jackson's Instagram.

Earlier this month, the two were seen walking down Sunset Boulevard together in Los Angeles. They weren't dating again then, a separate source told Us, but Olivia is leaning on him. “Olivia and Jackson are not back together, but she calls him to hang out and still seems emotionally dependent on him a little bit,” a source said. “They are still friends and have the same group of friends, so they will continue to see each other, but are not romantic.”

Last Tuesday, Us ran lots of details about the state of Olivia and Jackson's union: "Olivia and Jackson haven’t been spending as much time together than they were before. It’s a strange transitional time, but he’s trying to be there for her," one source said.

A second source detailed what lengths Jackson has gone: "Jackson has been there for Olivia, whether it be the occasional coffee run or just being physically near her. He’s trying to be supportive. It hasn’t always been easy, given the crazy amount of spotlight on them right now."

Olivia stayed at Jackson's house initially when news broke that her parents allegedly paid $500,000 to make it look like she and her sister Isabella were rowing team recruits to guarantee their admission to the University of Southern California. Then Olivia was photographed shopping at IKEA for furniture for her own place days before news of her and Jackson's breakup went public.

At the beginning of May, People was told Olivia and Jackson ended their relationship. “Jackson and Olivia were hanging out for several months but decided to just be friends,” an insider said, noting there was no hard feelings between them.

The college admissions scandal later come out as the reason Jackson called it. “Jackson broke up with Olivia because it was all getting to be too much for him,” an insider told Us Weekly in a report at the end of May. “It wasn’t necessarily affecting his career, but the fact that he couldn’t be seen out in public with Olivia was difficult.”
