Australia is about to get one more Hollywood star as a permanent resident. According to a report from TMZ, the actor wants to make Byron Bay, New South Wales his full-time home. Efron is apparently tired of Hollywood, and after spending time in Australia during the coronavirus pandemic, he's grown fond of life there.

TMZ says the 32-year-old isn't leaving the entertainment industry; he's just taking a break from Los Angeles and all the paparazzi who follow him around town. In his new Netflix show, Down to Earth, Efron mentions that he wants to get out of Hollywood, so this is clearly not a brand-new development.

According to TMZ, Efron also considers Byron Bay to be a safe place to be during the outbreak of COVID-19, and he doesn't think this crisis is going to end soon. He's planning to put down roots where he feels comfortable.

Last month, The Daily Mail posted photos of Efron out and about in Byron Bay. He's reportedly been hanging out with Chris Hemsworth, his wife, Elsa Pataky, who own a $20 million-dollar mansion. He was seeing hugging a local woman named Vanessa Valladares, though she appears to just be a friend.

Efron is dating 27-year-old Halston Sage, with whom he starred in Neighbors.

If Efron really does get a home in Byron Bay, he'll be be able to spend plenty of time in the outdoors. For Earth Day in April, he celebrated his connection with the outdoors by posting a photo of him posing with a lot of rocks.

"Happy Earth Day! I have always been in awe of the magic and mystery of Mother Nature. Exploring the unknown has always been a true passion in my life and now, more than ever, I realize how important it is to take care of our planet, our people and every living thing we share it with," he wrote. "Please be safe, be healthy and be kind to one another. 🌍 ❤ "

Enjoy Australia, Zac!
