William makes promise to Kate on first official appearance since her cancer diagnosis
The Prince of Wales made a promise to the Princess of Wales in his first official royal engagement since her cancer diagnosis.
William visited Surplus to Supper, a surplus food redistribution charity in Surrey, where he told volunteer Rachel Candappa he would “look after” his wife.
The prince touched Ms Candappa’s shoulder as he thanked her for her get-well-soon cards for Kate and the King, who has also been diagnosed with cancer.
William’s last public engagement was on 19 March in Sheffield to promote his Homewards homelessness campaign.
He has been taking time away from duties to spend time with his family after Kate revealed her diagnosis three days later.
