In a new interview with “The Today Show,” Bublé said receiving the news that his son Noah had been diagnosed with liver cancer was “the worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent and maybe as a human being.”

The Canadian crooner and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, first revealed their son’s illness in 2016. Bublé says both he and his wife struggled to cope with the reality that their then three-year-old son was ill.

“There were a million times that my wife and I were just surviving, struggling to survive, and to breathe. Bublé said the support from his family, friends and fans gave the couple strength.

Now five, Noah is healthy and the young family is thriving. Along with their two-year-old son, Elias, Bublé and his wife welcomed their third child, a daughter named Vida, in July.

“I’ve been through a lot,” the singer said. “One of the things about going through something that my family has been through is that it gives you great perspective and one of those points of perspective is that it really allows you to appreciate the good things.”
