Before and after photos of weight loss sometimes inspire us, but there are times when they make us scratch our heads and wonder how such a change is even possible. There’s a woman on Instagram, though, who isn’t afraid to show the world what it actually looks like to lose weight, and that there are a lot of things in between the before and after pictures that often get overlooked.

Rachel goes by @losinggravity on Insta, and she’s got over 112K followers. Over the last year, she has slowly but surely lost a whopping 90 pounds. She’s a mom of two, she’s wrestled with eating disorders in the past, and she’s candidly documented every step of her weight loss journey since 2015.

Recently, she got real about something that’s pretty common in people who have shed multiple pounds — she has some excess skin on her belly.

Rachel wants everyone to know that some extra skin is par for the course, and there’s nothing wrong with embracing it, even if it makes you uncomfortable at first.

“The anxiety posting this is REAL… ‘How did you avoid loose skin and stretch marks?’ Heyyyyy, I didn’t! It’s all there.”

There’s nothing about this weight loss experience that she regrets, because she’s more fit, happier, and healthier than ever before. So who cares if she’s got some extra skin on her body? That doesn’t mean she doesn’t think about it from time to time, though.

“I’d be lying if I said my loose skin wasn’t an insecurity of mine.. But I refuse to let it consume me. It doesn’t hold me back like the weight used to. This stomach has grown two beautiful boys..”

Honestly, this woman is our hero.
