Woman unmasks battle with anxiety to help others cope

It’s not always easy to spot somebody suffering with anxiety. The condition can effect anyone and manifests itself in different ways.

Take Brittany Nichole Morefield for instance, the makeup artist from Nashville enjoys a charmed life from the outside — but an emotional Facebook post by the 23-year-old reveals the turmoil she says looms beneath the surface.

“Anxiety isn’t just having a hard time catching your breath,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

“Anxiety is waking up at 3 a.m. from a dead sleep because your heart is racing. Anxiety is breaking out in a rash for no reason.

“Anxiety is crying, real and painful tears. Anxiety is a fight with your spouse, even though you’re not mad.”

The post struck a chord with many, racking up close to 200,000 likes likes and responses and more than 40,000 shares.

She concludes with an encouraging message, for others who endure similar a struggle: “This is not your fault. This is not the end. You are strong. You are intelligent. You are brave. You are worthy.

“Your feelings matter. Just because you’re bothered by something others aren’t, it doesn’t make you crazy or worthless.”
