The MTV Movie Awards aren’t your typical red carpet event. This is certainly not Oscar territory—which is what makes the outfits that much more fun to watch. This year the majority of A-list attendees stuck with short, cocktail-style dresses with eye-catching accessories but there were a few celebs who stepped outside the box. Related: See All Of Kate Middleton’s Dresses It’s not that any of these outfits are complete disasters but there seems to be something a little amiss with each one and we’d like to decide which look is the biggest faux-pas. Take a look at what Leighton Meester, Julianne Hough, Ellie Kemper and Elizabeth Banks wore to this year’s MTV Movie Awards and cast your vote for Worst Dressed. Leighton Meester
I adore Leighton Meester. I love her as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl and think she takes creative but stylish fashion risks. But is this outfit more upscale weekend brunch than red carpet event? I’m just not sure. The actress/singer wore a a sleeveless jacket, printed blouse and shorts from Christian Cota‘s spring 2012 collection. She accessorized with Brian Atwood pumps, a Jimmy Choo clutch and Neil Lane jewellery. Related: Hudson’s Bay Company’s New Clothing Collection Julianne Hough
Julianne Hough has certainly proven herself as a dancer with her role in Footloose (and of course her days on Dancing With The Stars) and the country singer has the body to show for her years of dance training.
But is that well-above-the-belly-button cut-out actually flattering her toned abs? I’m just not sure. The laser-cut peplem dress the actress wore from designer Sally LaPointe hit all the season’s hottest trends but it might have been better without the belly-baring hole.
The actress’s bright Dolce & Gabbana flowered dress was figure-flattering and a nice change from all the black and silver on the red carpet but paired with those Barbie-pink Alexander McQueen heels and JustFab purse, the whole effect is just a touch juvenile, don’t you think?
This look is a major change from the super preppy, out-of-sorts mom-to-be Banks played in What To Expect When You’re Expecting! I know that jumpsuits are back in fashion and keep appearing on red carpets but I’m just not sure we can embrace this particular jumpsuit with its spider web lace and daring cut.
The Hunger Games actress paired her Elie Saab jumpsuit with Ruthie Davis heels, a sleek high bun and minimal jewellery.
So who gets your vote for worst dressed?
